Gina's 2nd Ride Against Traffick

안녕하세요. 이번에 Ride Against Traffick에 작년에 이어 두번째로 참가하게 된 김진아 (Gina Kim) 입니다.

2012년 부터 시작된 RATK은 성매매 근절을 위한 부산-서울 국토종주 자전거 캠패인으로서 현대판 인간노예제의 심각성을 널리 알리고, 모금을 통해 사회적 약자들을 돕는 귀중한 사역을 담당하는 두 단체들을 후원하는 일들을 해오고 있습니다.

첫 번째 단체 Hope Be Restored (www.hopeberestored.org) HBR는 성매매의 피해여성들이 치유와 회복을 경험할 수 있게 도와줄 뿐만 아니라 HOPE소망을 주고 다시 사회에 적응하며 살아갈 수 있도록 이들을 교육하고 준비시키는 일들을 하고 있습니다. 두 번째 단체 Oak Tree Project (www.oaktreeproject.com) 참나무 장학금은 고아원에서 자라 대학에 간 청년들에게 일대일 멘토링과 매달 50만원의 장학금 후원을 통해 인신매매의 위험에 놓여있는이들을 보호할 뿐만 아니라 4년 동안의 멘토링 프로그램을 통해서 전인적인 미래의 리더들을 양성하고 훈육하는데 힘쓰고 있습니다.

이를 위해 2017년 이번 추석연휴 기간 (10월 6일-9일)에 저를 비롯하여 30여명에 달하는 한국을 사랑하는 외국인, 한국인들이 함께 총 550km에 달하는 거리를 4일에 걸쳐 로드자전거 대장정을 하게 됩니다. 작년에 처음으로 참가하게 되면서 정말 많은 은혜와 감사를 경험하였고 뜻깊은 일에 올해도 변함없이 참가하게 되어 참 감사합니다. 올해 6월 초 라이딩 훈련중 발생한 사고로 인해 한 달동안 훈련을 할 수 없는 어려운 시간 가운데에서 내 몸에 있는 멍과 상처들을 보며 이보다 더한 육신의 마음의 상처와 고통으로 살아가고 있는 성매매의 피해자들을 생각하며 그들을 위해 기도하기 시작했습니다. 또한 올 여름의 값진 경험과, 땀과 노력과 기도가 10월의 추석에 더 큰 감사의 열매로 무르익기를 기도합니다. 그리고 저는 확신합니다. 이번 캠패인이 고통받고 연약한 자들에게 큰 소망의 불씨를 가져다 줄 것이며 우리가 다시 깨어나고 이 세상이 변화되는 원동력이 될 것임을.. 부디 저와 함께 이 운동에 동참해 주십시오. 여러분의 기도와 격려가 큰 힘이 되고, 재정적 후원이 실질적인 큰 도움이 될 것입니다. 드려진 귀중한 후원금 100%는 두 단체에 전달되어 계속해서 사회적 약자들을 돕는데 사용될 것입니다.

Sex trafficking is a modern-day slavery and there are more than 27 million people enslaved today around the world. South Korea is a developed country, yet South Korean women are the most sex trafficked demographic people to the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia, according to the U.S. State Department Trafficking in Persons report. Also, being on their own, many orphans experience depression, suicidal thoughts, and are very vulnerable to entering the sex industry. That’s why we are riding, to raise awareness and to bring hope, and that’s what RATK is for!!

There is HOPE and we have a CHANCE to CHANGE THE WORLD. You and I, together, can make a difference and bring hope to the hopeless and freedom to the oppressed. So, please join me in this movement. 100% of proceeds will directly go to the two organizations.

The Ride Against Traffick is a four day, 550km bike ride from Busan to Seoul intended to raise awareness of the problem of human trafficking in South Korea and to fight it.

Your donations will go to two great organizations who are actively working to combat this modern-day evil: Hope Be Restored, which is one of the leading anti-trafficking ministries in Korea, and Oak Tree Project, which is a scholarship and mentoring program for orphans in Korea.
